SOUTHWEST SENIOR CENTER. The Southwest Senior Center is a community multi-purpose center developed to meet the social, recreational, educational, and referral needs of those 60 years of age and older in Southwest Philadelphia. Activities include swimming, bowling, discussion groups, ceramics, dance classes, trips, and opportunities to volunteer, nutritious meals, health screening, exercise, benefit assistance, and more. The program is additionally supported through member contributions. Individuals interested in joining may call to set up an appointment at which time they will tour the Center and meet with the social worker to discuss the appropriateness of the program to meet their needs. The Sunshine Center is a community multi-purpose center developed to meet the social, recreational, educational and referral needs of those 60 years of age and older in West Philadelphia. The center provides lunches, ceramics, sewing, dance, poetry, exercise, health screening and trips. The program is additionally supported through member contributions. Individuals interested in joining may call to set up an appointment with the social worker at which time they will tour the Center and meet with the social worker to discuss the appropriateness of the program to meet their needs.
